Plymouth offering virtual school options

Posted July 26, 2021

The Plymouth School District is expanding its virtual options to provide alternative learning opportunities for students whose educational needs may be better met outside the traditional school setting.

Virtual school options

4K-5K - No virtual option

Socialization and hands-on learning play a vital role in the learning process at this young age.

Grades 1-5 - Plymouth Virtual School House

Classes will be taught by Plymouth School District teachers in a virtual setting independent of in-person peers.

Grades 6-12 - Kiel Online School

Classes will be taught through the Kiel Online School. Students are considered to be enrolled in the Plymouth School District and can participate in extracurricular activities and graduation (if a senior). Kiel Online School staff work with Plymouth School District counselors to offer a Personal Education Plan tailored to each individual student.

Joining a Virtual School

Students will be allowed to join the virtual setting at the beginning of each semester, with school approval, prior to Aug. 15 (1st semester/trimester) and prior to Jan. 1 (2nd semester/trimester). Signing up is a commitment for the entire semester. Prior year attendance and academic standing will be considered as factors in determining approval for virtual learning.

How to sign up for a Virtual School

STEP 1: Complete the Virtual School Interest Form

STEP 2: Contact your school principal to share your interest, and he or she will set up a meeting to discuss having your child learn in a virtual setting.
