PLEASE NOTE: We have temporarily suspended enrollment, in light of the COVID-19 health crisis.

The Plymouth School District is now enrolling students who will begin 4-year-old kindergarten in the fall.

Children must be at least 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 in order to enroll in 4K, which features enriching curriculum in a classroom setting four days a week. The nurturing environment is designed to foster independence, encourage creativity, provide for social growth, and challenge new learning.

Morning 4K generally runs from 8:45 a.m. to noon and afternoon 4K from 12:30 to 3:45 p.m., though schedules vary slightly by location.

For children needing care beyond the traditional half-day 4K session, the district has established collaborative agreements with the following agencies:

  • Berry Branch Child Care, operated by Community Education & Recreation, is offering child care at all elementary schools for 2020-21 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. school days opposite the half-day 4K schedule, as well as all day when 4K is not in session, including summer break.
  • Growing Generations Childcare, in the Generations building, 1500 Douglas Drive, offers child care from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. school days before and after half-day 4K, as well as all day when 4K is not in session, including summer break.
  • Head Start at Generations, also in the Generations building, offers a full day of 4K four days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Each of these school-sponsored 4K programs is licensed by the State of Wisconsin and offers quality childcare services on site to reduce transitions, as well as a licensed early childhood teacher, a research-based developmentally appropriate curriculum, an emphasis on early literacy and math skills, and nutritious meals and snacks.

To enroll a child in 4K, please visit the 4K Enrollment section of our Enrollment & Registration page and bring the items listed there to the Plymouth School District Office, located inside Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave., any time between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Families who have enrolled by April 6 will receive placement information by June 1. Family visitation will take place in August, so children do not need to be present for enrollment.

Mark your calendar: Families of potential 4K students are invited to 4K Open Houses from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday April 2 and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday April 3 at Fairview, Horizon and Parkview elementary schools.
