PHS Boys Basketball to honor military, community

The Plymouth High School Boys Basketball team will host a Military & Community Appreciation Night on Thursday Feb. 13 to honor active and veteran U.S. Armed Forces members, as well as community sponsors who support the basketball program.

Veterans and active-duty service members will receive free admission to the game, and the first 50 will receive a special gift. U.S. military and veterans will be recognized and asked to stand in the bleachers at 6:45 p.m. between the JV and varsity games; please arrive by 6:15 p.m.

The theme of the evening will be patriotic for students and other fans. The PHS Boys Basketball Booster Club will donate its portion of the 50/50 Raffle to Hogs for Heroes, which gives area veterans a free motorcycle to support them with therapy.

Schedule of events:

  • 6:45 p.m.: Introductions and recognition of military members in attendance; recognition of community sponsors
  • 7:15 p.m.: Color Guard flag presentation, National Anthem, and Varsity game tip-off
  • Halftime: Announcement honoring military members and thanking community sponsors
