The PHS Varsity Dance Team at regionals

Dance takes 1st at regionals

The Plymouth High School Varsity Dance Team took first in Division 2 Hip Hop at the Eastern ​Regional Dance Championships sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches on Jan. 25 in Kimberly.

The team advances to the State Dance Championships set for Saturday Feb. 1 in LaCrosse.

Forensics wins Oshkosh meet

The PHS Forensics team won a first-place trophy in the small-team division at the Oshkosh North High School forensics meet held Jan. 18. Competing for the Panthers were:

  • Kieran Kraemer: 2nd in Storytelling
  • Michellelena Kraemer: Finalist in Informative Speaking
  • Cami Schroeder: Oral Interpretation of Literature
  • Emma Wynveen: Prose
  • Grace Wynveen: Solo Acting Humorous

The team also competed at Marquette University High School on Jan. 25. Earning awards were:

  • Kieran Kraemer: 3rd in Storytelling
  • Kathryn Brinkman: Finalist in Moments in History
  • Michellena Kraemer: Finalist in Informative Speaking

Paddock Club to serve PHS cupcake

The PHS Culinary Arts 2 (Pastry Chef/Bake Shop) classes recently held a Cupcake Challenge to demonstrate professional culinary team skills.

The top three finishers:

  • 1st: Red Velvet Cheesecake created Ava Booth, Ben Robinson, Zayda Pankow and Jordan Lensmire
  • 2nd: Raspberry Vanillabean created by Katie Andrea, Brittany Lisowe, Brandon Vaughn and Tyler Sunagel
  • 3rd: Ultimate Snickers created by Justin Holthaus, Tyler Sanders and Josh Koch

The winning recipe will be served Valentine's weekend at the Paddock Club in Elkhart Lake.

The Hub Café sold three types of muffins based on recipes created by Plymouth High School students.

PHS muffins served at The Hub Café

Students in the PHS Culinary Arts 3 (Catering & Careers) classes recently developed muffin recipes, with school judges selecting three to present to The Hub Café.

The Hub Café then adapted the recipes in order to make the following muffins to sell Jan. 22 and 23, with part of the proceeds going to the Plymouth Education Foundation:

  • Chocolate Cherry Muffin with a Vanilla Glaze created by Lilly LaPorte
  • Strawberry Nutella Swirl created by Desiree Gore
  • Peppermint Hot Chocolate created by Arry Klein

A panel of four judges from The Hub Café applied specific criteria to choose Chocolate Cherry Muffin as the overall winner.
