Congratulations to these Plymouth High School students on their recent recognitions!

PHS teams finished 1st and 4th out of 32 teams competing at the recent Lakeland Math Meet.

Lakeland Math Meet

A Plymouth High School team again won the recent Lakeland High School Math Meet, and a second Panther team finished in the top five.

At the event, held Oct. 21 at Lakeland University, participants from schools throughout Sheboygan County completed 16 questions as individuals, and six more questions with their teams.

The 32 teams at the event included three from PHS, which took first, fourth and 18th. Competing for the Panthers:

  • 1st-place team: Jacob Ashworth, Kyle Kraus, Alex Oty, Dallas Kreisa, Ansel Olsen, Reed Gahagan, Matt Sheridan, and Nick Shircel
  • 4th-place team: Logan Manthey, Dylan Ernst, Tessy Carbaugh, Max Ludington, Ryan Kraus, Maggie Munson, Kevin Smith, Carson Schwartz
  • 18th-place team: Jack Gentine, Nikolai Jirikowic, Zach Stucke, Ryan Selk, Eli Steiner, Forest Olsen

Jacob Ashworth (tied for first overall), Alex Oty, Reed Gahagan, and Matt Sheridan earned gold medals as individuals. Earning silver medals were Dallas Kreisa, Kyle Kraus, Ansel Olsen, and Nikolai Jirikowic.

At the 2018 meet, a Plymouth team took first and PHS senior Michael Troka won the individual competition, and two additional PHS teams placed in the Top 10.
