Congratulations to these Plymouth High School groups on their recent recognitions!

Hi-Lights state awards

The Plymouth High School student newspaper, Hi-Lights, recently was awarded the Red Ribbon in the publication division by the Northeast Wisconsin Scholastic Press Association.

This was the highest award given this year to a newspaper produced in class at a medium-sized school. The following individuals also won a total of 17 awards:

  • Emma Hellmer: first for Review; second for General News Story; third for Page Design Layout; fourth for News Story – Academic/Class Related or Extracurricular
  • Monica Yolich: first for Entertaining Feature Story, second for Personality Profile; second for Page Design Layout (with Gabby Arnold)
  • Gabby Arnold: second for Editorial; second for Page Design Layout (with Monica Yolich); third for Personality Profile
  • Carolyn Britt: second, third and fourth for Editorial Cartoon
  • Joey D’Amato: second for Review
  • Matt Timm: second for Sports Feature
  • Donald Ruppel: third for Sports Feature; fourth for Review
  • Isabell Gangano: fourth for News Story – Academic/Class Related or Extracurricular

Home Expo

The PHS Technology Education and Engineering Club took second place in the 2019 Home Expo High School Project.

This year’s project was to make bean bag toss boards. Members of the PHS team, which earned $500 in Tools for Schools, were Dylonn Fox, Jerry Georg, Jackson Krueger, Dillion Marquardt, Cody Pike, Jacob Schaller, and Luke Schultz.

Next Gen Personal Finance

PHS has been named a Gold Standard School by Next Gen Personal Finance. The Gold Standard designation indicates that a school requires all students to take a one-semester, standalone course in personal finance to graduate.
