Riverview team 2nd at Lakeland Math Meet

A Riverview Middle School team finished second out of the 56 teams at the Lakeland University Math Meet.

Members of the second-place team were Riverview eighth-graders Forest Olsen, Carson Schwartz, Carter Selk and Nick Shircel; seventh-graders Erynn Kletzien and Marco Troka; and sixth-graders Emmitt Huhn and Chloe Krebsbach.

Individual awards went to Nick Shircel, who tied for fourth overall in the competition, and to Carson Schwartz, who received an Honorable Mention. Fourteen Riverview students participated in the meet, held Nov. 12 at Lakeland.

The Riverview Math Club, open to students in grades six through eight, meets after school from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. every Monday. Participants compete in online practices as well as in-person competitions. Interested students should contact teachers Jessica Barrington (Room 202) or Billie Rau (Room 104).
