September 2018 School Board meeting summary

The Plymouth School District Board of Education met at 7 p.m. Sept. 18, 2018 in the Plymouth High School Amphitheatre.

 

Personnel

The board approved a 2018-19 teaching contract with Nicole Brunette to be a sixth-grade teacher at Riverview Middle School. She received a bachelor’s degree from UW-Oshkosh. This will be her first year of teaching, but she did her student teaching at Parkview Elementary School.

The board also learned of the following support staff changes:

  • Jill Rhude, educational assistant at Riverview Middle School, has resigned. She served the Plymouth School District for 15 years.
  • Gayle Holzmann, educational assistant at Riverview Middle School, has resigned. She served the district for 13 years.
  • Terri Flores, educational assistant at Fairview Elementary, has resigned. She served the district for 2 years.
  • Darlene Schroeder, food server at Riverview Middle School, has resigned. She served the district for 2 years.
  • Denice Ruh, school secretary at Fairview Elementary School, has resigned. 
  • Shawna Halle has been hired as school secretary at Fairview Elementary School.
  • Rebecca Gilbreath has been hired as an educational assistant at Fairview Elementary School.
  • Katie Hildebrand has been hired as an educational assistant at Riverview Middle School.
  • Melanie Hunt has been hired as an educational assistant at Fairview Elementary School.
  • Sierra Jacobson has been hired as an educational assistant at Riverview Middle School.
  • Elle Klecka has been hired as an educational assistant at Horizon Elementary School.
  • Gabrielle Kramer has been hired as an educational assistant at Fairview Elementary School.
  • Tracy Kreisa has been hired as an educational assistant at Horizon Elementary School.
  • Meghan Roelse has been hired as an educational assistant at Horizon Elementary School.
  • Hannah Wisman has been hired as an educational assistant at Fairview Elementary School.

 

Donations

The board gratefully accepted donations of:

  • $5,673.00 from the Soccer Booster Club for soccer barrier nets on the soccer field.
  • $2,548.94 from Plymouth Rotary Club for a garden house building project.
  • $1,798.20 from Horizon PATH for student transportation.
  • School supplies for the new school year from Focus Physical Therapy.

 

Other business

In other matters, the board approved the following travel requests:

  • For Tracy Heinbuch, PHS agriscience teacher, to travel with students to Indianapolis from Oct. 24 to 27 for the National FFA Convention
  • For Rommy Herrera, PHS Spanish teacher, to travel with students to Costa Rica from June 17 to 26, 2019.  This travel previously had been approved, but the dates have changed due to student availability in sports.
