Panthers in the Playoffs

Plymouth High School athletic teams competed in the WIAA playoffs. See how they did!

Girls soccer

The No. 2-seeded Panthers defeated No. 3-seeded Winneconne 1-0 in a Division 3 sectional June 7, but lost to No. 1-seeded Notre Dame 2-1 in the sectional final June 9.

Earlier in the playoffs, PHS had a bye for the first round of regionals May 29, then defeated 15th-seeded Ripon 5-0 on May 31, and 7th-seeded Waupun 2-0 on June 2 to become regional champs.

Track

PHS sent 7 events to the WIAA Division 1 State Track & Field Meet held June 1-2 at UW-La Crosse. The boys took 25th as a team. Competing for the Panthers were:

  • Boys Pole Vault: 2nd Jaxsen Schermacher 14-09.00
  • Boys 400-Meter Dash: 10th Mason Guell 50.77
  • Boys Long Jump: 10th Mason Guell 21-03.50
  • Girls High Jump: 12th Cece Huhn 5-02.00
  • Girls Shot Put: 17th Emily LaVine 37-05.00
  • Girls 400-Meter Dash: 19th Lauren Rabe 1:00.56
  • Boys Triple Jump: 23rd Mason Guell 40-11.25

Earlier in the playoffs, the PHS boys and girls teams both took 7th at sectionals May 24 at Hartford Union. (Click here for sectional results.) Both teams took 4th at regionals May 21 at Neenah. (Click here for regional results.)

Golf

Cade Knaus advanced as an individual to the Division 1 State Boys Golf Tournament on June 4-5 in Madison. After the first day of competition, he was tied for 61st place with an 81, but shot an even-par 72 on the second day to finish tied for 19th.

Earlier in the playoffs, PHS took 2nd as a team at the regional it hosted May 23 at Quit Qui Oc. (Click here for regional results.) The Panthers then took 3rd as a team at the sectional May 30 at Whistling Straits. (Click here for sectional results.)

Softball

The 3rd-seeded Panthers defeated 6th-seeded Milwaukee School of Languages 15-0 in a Division 2 regional May 23, but lost to 2nd-seeded Waupun 3-0 in the regional final May 24.

Boys tennis

The Panthers took third as a team at the Division 2 subsectional May 22 in Green Bay. The Flight 1 doubles team of Isaac Fintak and Drew Schmitt (9-8) advanced to sectionals May 23 in Kohler, but lost the first match.
