PHS newspaper wins high state award

The Plymouth High School student newspaper, Hi-Lights, recently was awarded a Red Ribbon in the publication division by the Northeast Wisconsin Scholastic Press Association.

This is the second-highest award given to a newspaper produced in class at a medium-sized school. The following individual staff members also won awards:

  • Nick Broder: first and second for sports column; third for sports news story
  • Emma Hellmer: first and second for review; third for news-based feature story
  • Arizona Fondrliak: first for entertaining feature story
  • Tehya Wachuta: first for serious column
  • Isabell Gangano: second for sports feature story; third for general news story
  • Gabby Arnold: second and fourth for editorial cartoons; honorable mention for news-based feature story
  • Natalie Britt: second for personality profile; fourth for editorial
  • Lexie Timm: second for personality profile
  • Tasia Arnold: third for editorial
  • Monica Yolich: third for sports feature story
  • Keith D’Amato: fourth for news-based feature story
