Former Plymouth High School teacher and coach Scott Richards has been honored with a Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association Service Award.

The award allows WADA-member schools to recognize someone from their school or community who has gone above and beyond in their service to the school. PHS presented the award to Coach Richards during halftime of a boys basketball game Nov. 21.

“Scott has been a teacher, coach, mentor, advocate, and more importantly, a friend to the Plymouth School District for over 40 years,” said PHS athletic director Gale Grahn. “Plymouth proudly recognizes Scott Richards with the 2017 WADA Service Award.”

Coach Richards taught social studies at PHS, and coached baseball, football, basketball and track, including stints as head coach for baseball and basketball.

He also has helped run youth programs in all of the sports, does Community TV broadcasts for several sports, and volunteers his time to work at various PHS sporting events.
