Plymouth-area boys in grades seven and eight are encouraged to participate in extracurricular basketball.
Middle-school extracurriculars, which are open to all area students whether they attend public or parochial school or are homeschooled, are coordinated by Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation. The cost is $20 per sport.
A brief initial meeting will begin at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle. Parents do not need to attend, but may if they wish. Practices begin the week of Oct. 23, with the grades alternating practice times of 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. and 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.
The seventh-grade team is coached by Justin Lloyd, and the eighth-grade team by Brad Mey.
The season consists of 10 conference games on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Nov. 2 and ending Dec. 19. Each grade level has an A and B team, which differ by skill level. B games begin at 3:45 p.m. and A games begin at 4:45 p.m.
