Community members are invited to drop off spent markers at Fairview Elementary School, which is participating in a new recycling program called Crayola ColorCycle.
The markers are sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel, which can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, and cook meals. Crayola hopes the initiative keeps tons of plastic out of landfills each year.
Markers of any kind – not just those from Crayola – can be dropped off at the Fairview office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. school days.
