Fall basketball camps begin soon

The Plymouth High School basketball teams are sponsoring camps for younger students this fall.

Both camps will run on Mondays from Oct. 9 to 23, with the girls at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Drive, and the boys at Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave. Camps are open to all area students in the listed grades.

  • Lady Panther Basketball Fall Camp, for girls in grades 4 through 8, features PHS coaches and players teaching game fundamentals with drills and game play. Grades 4 through 6 will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and grades 7 and 8 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
  • Stars of Tomorrow Boys Basketball Camp, for boys in grades 3 through 8, features PHS coaches and players teaching shooting, ball-handling and passing, emphasizing skill development with team play. Grades 3 through 5 will meet from 6 to 7:15 p.m., and grades 6 through 8 from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.

Until Oct. 2, the fee for either camp is $15, which includes a T-shirt; after Oct. 2 the fee is $25. The camps are coordinated by Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation, but proceeds benefit the respective team booster clubs.
