PHS Choir presents Nashville show

Posted April 10, 2017

The public is invited to a sneak peek at the show the Plymouth High School Choir will be performing in national competition later this month.

The 20-minute Competition Preview Concert will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, April 17 in the PHS Auditorium, 125 Highland Ave. General admission is free.

Every two years PHS choir students have the opportunity to travel outside the state to learn more about music. This year, the choir will be competing at the World Stride Heritage Festival of Gold in Nashville, Tenn. PHS qualified for this competition by earning a first – placing it in the top 10 percent of student choirs in the nation – at an event in New York City two years ago.

While in Nashville from April 21 to 25, the 92 students also will have time to sightsee, take in a show at the Grand Ole Opry, and tour the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Also mark your calendar for the annual PHS Choir Honors Recital at 7 p.m. Friday, April 28 in the PHS Amphitheatre. Enjoy a night of barbershops, madrigals, solo, duets, and trios as students enjoy a final dress rehearsal before they head to State Solo & Ensemble at UW-Milwaukee the next day.
