The March 31 Fantastic Friday, open to all area students in 4K through eighth grade, will feature a visit from rescue dogs and relay races on the final day of Spring Break.
Fantastic Fridays are enriching, fun events on no-school days, with supervision provided by Community Education & Recreation child-care workers and Youth Center staff.
Drop-off and pick-up will be at Horizon Elementary School, 411 S. Highland Ave. Organized activities will run from 9 a.m. to about 3 p.m., but wrap-around child care is available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at no additional cost.
Students should bring a cold lunch; a light breakfast and snack will be provided. Space is limited to 65 participants, so register early. Fee is $30 until Friday, March 24, then $45.
Those needing child care during other days of Spring Break might be interested in the Intro to Sports mini-camps, which allow students to sample a different sport each day. Coaches and varsity players will offer basic instruction in the morning, then have lunch with participants, followed by game play in the afternoon.
Mark your calendar: The final Fantastic Friday of the 2016-17 school year will be April 28 and feature the PHS pool and ropes course.
