The Sustainable Living Group of Sheboygan County invites the public to spend an evening exploring sustainable food practices and local food resources.
The Importance of Sustainable Local Food on a Community event will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 23 in the Food Science & Agriculture Center at Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave.
Topics include food waste composting, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms, buying locally, and how nonprofit Nourish Farms is empowering the community to make healthy food choices.
Light refreshments grown in the PHS Food Science & Agriculture Center and prepared by PHS culinary arts students will be served. Admission to the event is free, but donations will be accepted to cover the refreshments and to help fund the PHS Green Team scholarship fund.
So that the correct amount of food can be prepared, those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by March 16 with Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation, 892-5068 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
