PHS Chess Club takes 1st at Acuity

The Plymouth High School Chess Club brought home a first-place team trophy from the recent Acuity Chess Tournament.

The team took first in the grade 9-10 category; competing for the Panthers were freshmen and sophomores Chase Jasinski, Anna Brink, Christian Pieper, Avi Charlton-Diesch and Adam Carbaugh. In addition, Chase took second as an individual among the 40 high school-level players.

Also representing PHS at the Feb. 18 tournament, which had nearly 400 competitors, were junior Ty Brink and senior Emily Mersberger.
