Second-semester Fantastic Fridays set

Plymouth School District Community Education and Recreation is offering four Fantastic Fridays on no-school days during the second semester.

Fantastic Fridays are enriching, fun days open to all area students in 4K through eighth grade. Supervision is provided by Community Ed & Rec child-care workers and Youth Center staff.

Drop-off and pick-up will be at Horizon Elementary School, 411 S. Highland Ave. Organized activities occur between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., but wrap-around child care is available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at no additional cost.

  • Jan. 27: Movie & Bowling. The movie will be “A Dog’s Purpose.”Students should bring socks for bowling. The bus will leave at 9:30 a.m. and return by 3:30 p.m. Limited to 65 participants, so register early.
  • Feb. 17: Tubing at Sunburst. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. and return around noon. Limited to 65 participants. Note: St. Vincent de Paul is offering a separate afternoon tubing trip for grades 5 and up; call (920) 892-4913 Ext. 101 for more information.
  • March 31: Rescue dog visit and relay games. Note: This event is during Spring Break; Community Ed & Rec is offering Intro to Sports workshops during the other days of Spring Break.
  • April 28: PHS Pool and Ropes Course. Bring a swimsuit and towel (and a lifejacket for those in 4K and kindergarten).


Students should bring a cold lunch; a light breakfast and snack will be provided. Space is limited, so register early. Register for all four dates by Jan. 20 and pay only $100. Otherwise, each is $30 until the Friday before the event, then $45.
