The Plymouth School District Board of Education met at 7 p.m. Oct. 18, 2016 in the Plymouth High School Amphitheatre.
The board learned of the following support staff changes:
Pillars of Excellence
The board approved the Community Engagement Pillar Strategic Plan for the 2016-17 school year.
The board also heard a presentation about Global Navigator Scholarships. PHS Principal Jennifer Rauscher and PHS world languages teacher Laura Koebel explained the summer Global Study Abroad Program, available to PHS students through Global Navigator Scholarships presented by the Council on International Educational Exchange.
The board approved the 2016-17 final operating budget and certified a tax levy of $11,213,860, which includes $1,446,145 for debt service and $185,000 to support Community Education (down $15,000 from recent years). The mill rate is estimated to be $8.33 per $1,000 of equalized value.
The board approved the annual promissory note for cash-flow purposes of up to $2.6 million, which will allow the district to meet expenses until aid and property tax money arrives.
The board also accepted a bid from C & S Construction of Sheboygan Falls to provide snow plowing services again this winter.
