Parents and Teachers of Horizon (PATH)

The parent organization at Horizon is called P.A.T.H. (Parents and Teachers for Horizon). The P.A.T.H. officers and board members are parents and teachers, and are all elected volunteers. Elections are held at the P.A.T.H. meeting each March. P.A.T.H. members are all parents or guardians who have a student enrolled at Horizon Elementary School and any member of the Horizon staff. There is no membership fee to participate in P.A.T.H. activities.

P.A.T.H. meets once a month on the second Thursday of each month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to attend.

The goal of P.A.T.H. is to foster a united effort between parents, teachers, students and the school. Some of the activities we participate in and sponsor include: assemblies, family nights, fifth grade celebration, fun fair, school parties, talent show, school supplies, yearbook and teacher/secretary/staff appreciation. P.A.T.H. also provides funds for school equipment and other items that are not provided for in the school budget by the district. These funds are obtained through various fund raisers throughout the school year and made possible by parents volunteering their time and help.

P.A.T.H. has a mailbox in the school office and you are welcome to communicate through any of the officers or members of the board.
