The Plymouth Joint School District will allow students to enroll in other Districts provided the student or the student’s family complies with the appropriate statutory and local requirements for application and meets the criteria. The criteria include statutory limits on numbers of students exiting the District, and if the cost of an exiting EEN student would impose an undue financial burden on the Plymouth Joint School District .
The Plymouth Joint School District will allow part-time open enrollment either in or out of the District as specified in the statutes if there is space in the class(es) requested after all resident students have been accommodated. Part-time open enrollment applies to Home Schooled children and students attending private schools, residents not of school age, and non-resident students. If insufficient space exists to accommodate all applicants, all resident applicants will be considered in the order listed above, then non-resident applicants.
The Plymouth Joint School District will allow non-resident open enrollment into any pre-kindergarten programs only if the resident district has such a program and the above criteria are met.
The Plymouth Joint School District reserves the right to reconsider the enrollment of any non-resident student either at the beginning of Middle School (sixth grade) or High School (ninth grade). Reconsideration will be made using the same criteria as other open enrollment decisions.
Transportation will not be provided unless it is required of the resident district by the student’s Individual Educational Plan.
