The Plymouth School District has launched a Facebook page to provide information about school events.

The page, located at www.facebook.com/PlymouthSchools, is updated each school day by Jamie Piontkowski, coordinator of community communications for the district.

“We recognize that more and more parents and community members rely on Facebook for news and information,” Mrs. Piontkowski said. “This provides another way for us to keep people informed about all the opportunities in the schools.”

The page features information on upcoming events, student and staff accomplishments and interesting classroom projects. Facebook users are encouraged to “like” postings and add their own comments.

The district also has a Twitter account, which features closing information, reminders about upcoming events and links to interesting articles on the district’s web site. District Tweets can be followed at http://twitter.com/plymouthschools.
