The automotive technology class at Plymouth High School is hosting a car show Friday, May 11.
The public is invited to enter cars as well as to view the cars during the show, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grass area by the baseball field.
Those interested in displaying a car can bring it at any time during the show. Judging will be held at 3 p.m., with winners recognized in the following categories:
Students are organizing and promoting the event, designing signs, and handling registration and parking at the show.
The purpose of the show is to inspire students, business and community members to share common interests and knowledge about cars and car culture, according to auto tech instructor Mike Fels.
He hopes the event builds community support for the automotive students and their program, and builds a relationship between students and local automotive authorities. In addition, students can experience changes in technology over the years and gain an appreciation for classic cars, he noted.
