Riverview Middle School in Plymouth presented “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” as its annual musical Nov. 4 to 6.
The audience was transported to a lovely French provincial town where the beautiful Belle lives with her father, a dotty inventor. When her father doesn’t return from a trip to the local fair, Belle goes in search for him. To her dismay, she finds he is being held prisoner in an old castle by a horrible beast. She trades her freedom for his and the “tale as old as time” begins. Riverview’s production was filled with the spectacular costumes and all the wonderful songs from Disney’s Academy Award-winning animated feature.
Eileen Brooks is the musical director, and Kathleen Stoltenberg is the drama director. Valerie Kaat is the piano accompanist. Sarah Payne is the student director.
